The Quantitative Biomedical Imaging and Characterisation Research Group provides novel solutions to real-world clinical problems. It operates through the Imaging Modalities of Quantitative Ultrasound, Finite Element Analysis of X-ray Images, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Immersive Visualized Simulated Visualisation, along with Modelling & Simulation. The three Clinical Themes are Bone, Radiation Oncology, along with Healthcare Professional Training & Patient Awareness.

The Q-BIC Research Group currently includes two postdoctoral research fellows, four postgraduate research students and five graduate project students. International collaborations have been established with both the US and Europe.

The current grant income portfolio totals approximately $3 million with a further $2.5 million pending.
