Gel Dosimetry: Multi-modality-imaging of radiation dosimetry gelsDosimetry offers a step-change in dose verification. Following irradiation, the physical properties of the gel are changed and the gel dosimeter can be imaged, making three-dimensional dose information available to the radiation therapy team. Traditionally this 3D imaging has utilised either optical or magnetic resonance imaging. The aim of this research is to develop and validate both scientifically and clinically, the alternative 3D imaging modalities of ultrasound computed tomography and Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry computed tomography (DXA-CT), that may be better suited to radiation oncology centres that do not have access to the sophisticated modalities of optical and MR imaging. - Principal Investigators: Prof CM Langton, Dr Jamie Trapp
